What’s the structure of a Pit party?
Our parties have two hours of contact with trained instructors. You may arrive 30 minutes before the start time on the booking form to set up.
Our coaches will also arrive early to set up for the party, and they will be happy to assist you in anyway possible; however, please be aware they are not always able to entertain the children before the official start time.
Our coach contact time will be the two hours on the booking form (e.g. 10-12, 3-5, or 4-6). We spend the first hour on the top fields playing your chosen games, and the second hour in The Pit.
Can mums, dads, and siblings join in?
Of course! Parents and younger siblings are invited to join in, however our minimum age for safety and enjoyment in The Pit is age 6.
If parents do join in, we respectfully ask that they assist without taking over, and allow our coaches to continue running the party.
We booked a party for 10-20 guests and have found out that 22 are attending. What next?
Above 20 guests, we need to employ an additional staff member for the party. This is for both safety and the kids’ fun, at an additional cost. We kindly ask that you inform us 1 week before the party date and that payment for this coach is made prior to the party.
Similarly, if you book for 20-30 or 30-40 and exceed the maximum number, please inform us so that we can staff accordingly.
Is The Pit dangerous?
We conduct a safety check of The Pit before each party and at least one of our instructors on the day will be first aid qualified.
Our coaches are trained to tailor time in The Pit to the kids’ ages and abilities. For young kids, this might be slower and have more encouragement. For big kids, our instructors will give them more freedom to explore and race.
The Pit is designed to push children out of their comfort zone, to get dirty and be active: please keep this in mind, and remind other parents.
Can I bring my dog?
Dogs are allowed in the tented area, as long as any droppings are disposed of thoughtfully (in the bins!!). Please do not allow your dog to run on our fields or into The Pit.
Do you have electricity?
No, we do not have electricity at the party site. For this reason, ice cream cakes are NOT advised!
What does Centaurs provide?
As well as a pit-load of fun, we provide an invite, shade, all equipment and bottled water. We can provide an ice box, if you would like to bring ice and chill drinks.
What are your weather policies?
The Pit party will take place in all weather. We have a large tentage for shade for parents and the kids’ water breaks.
With rain, we believe this makes it more fun! For storms, we have a “15-minutes-since-last-strike” policy with thunder and lightning. Activities will take place under the tent during this time and The Pit will be out of bounds until the storm has passed. We are unable to postpone the party on the day, to another day or offer refunds in the case of bad weather.
What is your haze policy?
In Haze, we postpone parties where the 1-hour PM2.5 exceeds 150. Decisions can be made up to 1 hour before party start time and the party can be rebooked for another date.
Do we need to sign waiver forms?
Parents of invited guests do not need to sign individual waiver forms.
By booking a party, the guardian or parent of the child (the “booker”) agrees to the following:
“I am aware that Centaurs has run many pit parties and camps since the year 2002; that its programmes are specifically designed to be child-friendly and safe; and that there have, to date, been no major accidents. I understand that it is in Centaurs’ own best interest to continue this good track record.
I also understand, however, that nobody, including Centaurs and our staff, can provide certainty that no accidents will ever happen.”
Anyone booking a Pit Party or registering their child for a Centaurs Multisports Camp hereby undertakes, except where excluded by law and save and except for the gross negligence or willful misconduct of the Centaurs Group Private Limited, that they will not hold Centaurs Group Private Limited and/or any of its officers, employees or contractors responsible in the unlikely event of any accident causing injury to their child or invited children howsoever caused, sustained in the course of or in connection with the sports party and any coaching/training that is conducted at this time and arranged by Centaurs Group Private Limited at the Centaurs Sports Park, “The Pit” or its associated locations at Turf City, Bukit Timah, Singapore.
What are your T&Cs?
We provide trained coaches with at least one with a first aid qualification. We expect to be made aware of any relevant health or ability issues of the party child or their invited guests, so that we can cater our activities and communication accordingly.
We expect our coaches to be treated with respect and authority by parents and children alike. Abusive behaviour or language towards our staff will not be tolerated and will be dealt with in an appropriate manner. As the “booker” of the party, we ask your cooperation to uphold these expectations with all guests.
We can no longer make the party we’ve booked. Can we get a refund?
A 50% cancellation refund is available if cancellation is made between 7 – 10 days before the booked date. Any cancellation within a week (7 days) of the party date will receive no refund.
